I'm hoping somebody can give a bit of advice in relation to our zanussi essential 1000 (ZWF1011W) washing machine. We have had it a good number of years (13 to be exact). The machine is washing the clothes and then stopping. It will not drain and we have to open the machine, take out the clothes and then soak up the water. We have cleared the filter out and there is no blockage there. When you turn around the drum you can hear the water still in it. Has anybody else had this problem, if you have, can you give some advice?

I think you need to be realistic here, a Zanussi that has lasted 13 years has given you good service. Time to consider a replacement. If it was a simple matter like motor brushes it might be worth fixing but from what you say it sounds like the pump is busted and I doubt if that's an economic repair for a 13 year old Zanussi.

What I'm getting at is that other things will start to go wrong and you'll end up throwing good money after bad. It's reached the end of it's useful life.
