New Job start-when?

    If I hand in my notice tomorrow- Can I start my new job on Monday?
    I would be on leave & technically would not be off payroll for 4 weeks.

    This will cause tax issues.

    Can you ask your current (old) job to simply terminate you today rather than pretending you still work there during the 4 weeks after you've left? Explain you have a new job you'd like to start.

    Howong have you been working for the company? What notice period is in your contract? If your in leave it can be cancelled to allow you to train a replacment
