Hi guys, got electrics quote from an electrician and they've listed 2x data point cat 6 in many of the rooms. Other quotes just state 1 data/ phone point. I presume their referring to same thing but can anyone tell me why 2 would be required over 1? Thanks

the CAt 6 point will work for phone and computer leads its a dual connection

You are being advised on an option of one point that you can use for either phone
or with the 2 x data point
PC or two points that you can have two phones on, or a phone and a PC or two PCs.

With wireless phones and wifi technology the one cat 6 point might be enough.

try to make sure that the location that your internet can come into the house is cabled to the location that the other end of these cat 6 cables end up.

No real need to bring it to the point where the connection comes in. With UPC horizon the digital box is also the router. Why bring all cables to the main TV point?
Just bring all cables to the attic or under the stairs and put a switch there, you can use one point where's it comes in up to the attic then distribute it from
    There.
