house alarm constant sounding

Hi my sister just got keys to a new house and the alarm was not working. Opened up the box which is in the hot press to find the neutral and battery disconnected. when the neutral is re connected the alarm sounds instantly and constantly even if I hold the anti tamper switch on the box in. The only thing I can see is that the magnet for the front door sensor is missing, all others appear to be ok. This would not cause instant and constant alarm, would it? how do I proceed with fixing it. Alarm is Aritech CS350. Thanks.

The alarm is booting up in the alarm condition. Normally when a panel is powered down like that it's when something had drastically gone wrong and it wouldn't be a DIY job. Probably best to get out a pro.

Not suggesting something drastic didn´t go wrong, but judging by the state of the rest of the house I´m guessing disconnecting due to pure laziness when something minor went wrong is a strong possibility

Only way of knowing that is to get it up and running again.
If you dont know the code then a default if not engineer locked will bring the system back to factory settings.

Thanks for the advice, got it up and running today with a new battery, engineers code and default code, it´s back to factory settings, just need to figure out how to programme it now, when armed it sounds immediately on opening a door and doesn´t sound at all with opening/ banging windows.Any advice for reprogramming it besides rtfm ?

Good to hear. Go into the zone menu and set up the gross and pulse for each zone. Only 4 zones 1-4 on the 350 are analyzed for shock sensors.

Thanks for that, only got around to programming it today. All is working fine except for the missing sensor, so question is where to buy a sensor for the front door? Carlow or Naas would be convenient and I also need a new sensor for my parents house. Do Electrical wholesalers stock them or alarm specialists only?

Have a look here on the suppliers list for local suppliers.
