HR Question

    Hello,

I worked for company a good few years ago on a contract basis, the contract was extended & subsequently I was offered a permanent position with 6 months probation (standard)...Unfortunately the recession hit & at the end of my probation I was let go much to the regret of my manager at the time.

A few years later I was looking at moving back to Dublin & my manager from said company got in touch to say they were looking for staff & would love to have me back but alas when she went to HR she was told that due to the way my contract was before that they don't hire back those that were considered permanent staff even though I was let go after probabtion.

Its been about 6 years since leaving the company & they are again looking for staff...is there much point in applying if I will be faced with the same situation again?!

Is there a time limit on this kind of situation?

Apply anyway, their policy may have changed since. I know for a fact that it changed in one much that operates here.
