No thread yet so I thought I'd throw one up. Just one category 3 climb so should be one for the sprinters.

    stage5_profile.png

    Stage odds: Degenkolb 7/4, Bouhanni 7/4, Matthews 11/2, Hofland 20/1, Sagan 33/1

    C-Cyling preview here

The real question is whether Bouhannni can hang on in there on the climb, or reconnect on the descent. If he can, he wins. If not, Degenkolb will be favourite.

Must be a boardsie down the costa who can pop up onto the route and get a few pics near the run in to the finish

Tony Martin gone in the break, instant warning lights should be going off for every other team.

I think they'll get him on the final climb but you never know.

Martin and Ligtart being kept on a short leash, gap is under 2 minutes at the half-way point of the stage.

Martin's given up on the breakaway, a bit too high on GC maybe. Ligtart's continued on alone and the gap has gone out to 2'33

That was nasty about Jimmy Engoulvent. Just thinking about that sort of heat makes me sweat..

And Cancellara losing 4.5kg in a single day. Bleh.

Its amasing really how Dan Martin & Nico Roche go so well in the extreme heat ....must be genetics

But Lighart is in the break alone today....too hot maybe ??

In the first chasing group, about 1'35 behind.

Hopefully. Too many GC riders in that team for my liking. I guess they're waiting to see how the first week goes to see who the team gets behind after?

Can't imagine Bouhanni'd make too many friends with his complaint over that finish.

Out here on holidays. Was at the 300m line, great atmosphere. Just waded through a sea of people at the Tinkoff team bus getting pictures and autographs with Contador, hugely popular guy.
