Was toying around with Onlive.com cloud gaming last night and spotted something that works out nicely. You can buy a number of steam games through onlive cheaper than they are on steam itself if you buy their "cloud lift version". This isn't for a cloud based version of it, when you purchase it sends you on the Steam code to redeem from steam itself, so you just download it and run it as any other steam game.

    http://games.onlive.com/games#selectCloudlift

For example I got mortal kombat Komplete Edition last night - it's €19.99 on steam, but 19.99 USD through onlive. It worked out as €12.81

Had a look and there's a fair few titles the same - eg saints row iv game of the century edition - again €19.99 on steam, 19.99 USD via onlive.

You just need to sign up for a free onlive account to get them but other than that doesn't seem to be any catch.

Shopping around might be the better option than signing up to a subscription based service to save a few euro.

For example you paid €12.81 for mortal kombat komplete edition. Checking Kinguin.net they have steam keys listed for as low as €9.99 without the need to sign up for a subscription based service. It's also $19.99 from amazon.com download.

Offtopic: r/gamedeals is great for finding out pc (and sometimes console) game deals.

some of those deep silver games (sts row dead island etc) could be region locked as well. Kinguin tells you the region restriction on a game.

Thats the thing though you don't need to subscribe to anything, just sign up for an account which is free, once you have the account you can buy normal use games as such (just don't click on the option to add a subscription to the game"

Hadn't heard of kinguin, wish I had last night :( cheers tho I'll know for next time.

If this is a crap bargain alert so ignore or delete as required!

There should just be a sticky for steam gamers for Kinguin. Have been buying off there for a few months and getting games at a fraction the price of the Steam Store.
