    Hi Guys,

I am a complete newbie when it comes to collecting coins but it is something I am would love to get into.

I first became interested last year after attending some 1913 lockout history events and thought that coins would be a great thing to collect over the next few years during this historic time. With the centennial anniversary of 1916 coming up, I hear that there will be lots of special edition coins being minted. My main question is, can you point me in the direction of an online store/physical stores in and around Dublin that would sell such coins please? I’ve done a quick google search and I have found sites like http://www.dublinmintoffice.ie/ and http://www.hiberniancoinsandnotes.com/ but I don’t know how reputable they are.

Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Dublin mint is a con shop for parting fools and their money.

This is in no way affiliated with the official Irish central bank site

+1 Plenty of stories on boards of elderly people foolishly enquiring about one of their products, then getting a stream of unwanted 'samples' followed by demands for payment. Everything they sell is hyped-up junk.

    Avoid like the plague.

The Coin Fair is due up in Oct. at the RDS, there'll be lots of dealers there including from abroad, so much more of a variety for you to choose from.

But I can't stress enough what the previous posters have said about avoiding the so called Dublin mint office and it's products like the plague!

Coins are also sold on www.adverts.ie and ebay
Going to the RDS Coin Fair is a good idea and you will get to know some dealers..
