    Hello

I would like to buy an hifi system with the following:

    Mac mini (2012 or 2014?)
    Rotel RA-12
    KEF Q700
    DAC TEAC UD501

I'm thinking to go to hifihut to listen to the amplifier & the speaker.

I have 260 GB of FLAC files.

For a budget of 2000€, what speakers/amplifier would you suggest? What do you think about my initial choice?

    Thanks in advance.

Just a quick query, you seem to be buying two dacs there in the rotel and the TEAC? Any particular reason?

    Hi! Good question.

Actually this DAC is famous and had good reviews in my country.

I listened to it in France the sound looked more opened. But I totally understand as for a first system ever it is pointless. However I want to use it with a mac and I prefer to use the USB instea of the mac optical thing.

I'll buy it on thomann, they can send it to Ireland.

Im just thinking that if you are going with the TEAC as DAC, you would probably get more if you went for an amplifier without a DAC built-in...??

Before I would spend that sort of money I would pay a visit to Cloney Audio on Main St, Blackrock. They have a real quality range of products and a selection of used gear that are real bargains.
They are established over forty years.

Thanks. I'll go also to hifihut too, in order to have the possibility to do a benchmark.

I went to 2 auditorium in Paris before moving here & spent 2 hours over there. There is no reason for me to buy without first listening & trying.

    Hi gigatoaster,

We have plenty in those price ranges to have a listen to in our showrooms so drop in any time.

Nothing beats listening with your own ears.
