Is it possible to have amazon.com deliver to Ireland? If they wont deliver is there any Parcel Motel like services for US to Ireland?

Some sellers deliver to Ireland. It really depends on who you're buying the product from.

Well the two cheapest ones won't and the rest are as expensive as buying on Amazon UK :(

Would Amazon UK not be a better option in general for buying stuff? They do more deliveries to Ireland. It's likely to be more expensive to have something delivered from the U.S.

Well if the seller doesn't deliver to Ireland then I don't think there's much you can do about it. I know its frustrating when there's something you want that's a real bargain. It happened to me recently when I was buying camera equipment from amazon UK. I just had to spend a bit more to get what I wanted. I still saved a lot compared to what I would have paid in the shops though.

I use http://www.shipito.com for parcel forwarding from the US, it takes about 2 1/2 weeks for delivery with the cheapest option, once they receive the package.

Do they have a flat shipping rate?

No they don't; once they receive your package, and have it's dimensions/weight, you're presented with a list of carriers, including all the couriers, which are priced accordingly.

I tend to avoid the likes of TNT/FedEx etc as they can be quite expensive and stick with USPS/regular postage

Good advice. However is that 119 lbs weight ? You are going to have to pay a hefty tariff for that.Use USPS as much as possible but they have weight limits so its probably going to be a courier.

Do you have a friend/relative that lives in Northern Ireland? I often get items sent to their address and pick them up if they are quite large, or give them money to post it on down to me if it's small enough.

I have emailed several sellers in the past to see if they would ship here when it was not listed. I would say over 90% agree to send here once asked. These would be small sellers, big players might not be able to easily change the system.

I guess most just want to deal only with English speakers who they think are not likely to scam, and might just overlook Ireland when ticking boxes of where they want to send to.

Used shipito to order.. Emailed the seller to see if they'll ship to Ireland instead.. Here's hoping.. It'll cut out a lot of middle man for me.

Don't forget import taxes if its from the us. With all the delivery and taxes and hardship it might just be easier from uk.

Definately stick with usps and avoid big couriers if its coming from us, I find things tend to slip through the import net with usps whereas the big couriers generally pay import taxes on your behalf and then collect it from you afterwards.

Well the cheapest options are DHL and Econemy Airmail.. Airmail will take a lot longer. Well so far if I use DHL, I'll have spent 65 euro (give or take) before tax, as apposed to 120 pounds, plus parcel motel and fuel collecting it!

I didn't realise that was the case. Although I mostly buy from the big sellers. It would worth be emailing the seller in future though if they don't deliver to Ireland.
