Hi all, car decided it needed a holiday this morning and I had to grab a taxi at 4am to Dublin Airport. I was never told of discounts prior to today but a lot of my colleagues have said there are such discounts during unsociable hours for airport workers? Any truth to this?

Never heard of taxi discounts but I do know of a few companies that supply minibuses to the staff at no price to the staff for the unsociable hours worked

I know the likes of the aircoach offer 50% off on fares to the airport to airport works- single City-Airport 3.50 for workers as opposed to 7e

Excellent, any ideas if its just the City Centre Aircoach or is it applicable to the Cork Express to/from Dublin Airport via the City?

I know some of the guys in my place have had taxis stop and ask them do they want a lift for a fiver. They'd have another fare paying punter in the car so presumably OK it with them first. This would be guys in uniform standing at bus stops, particularly on the route out of town.

Or there's that express bus, I think it might be a fiver from wherever you are to the airport

There is a cpmpany that run thru the nite staff buses. (They operate other routes in the day)
You register and book pickup. I did look at their website a few months ago. I think it was airport hopet. Lord lucan or Jamie2k posted its name previously.

As for Aircoach....used to be 3,50 all routes until they tightened up the fares.

Cheers for that lads, six euro is ideal during the night might leave the car when I have it back at home altogether. Is there a further discount if you are an Aer Lingus employee, I just noticed on the LogonHopon website the logo is there?

Having looked at the website I am of the opinion that the system is only open to airport employees and I assume E6 is the fare for all. Certainly good value.
