first day of college setup

    guys this might sound like the most stupid question but im starting in BIT in September and haven't been in a class room in over 10 years so im wondering what do people bring with them on the first day? do i bring my laptop or the old style pen and paper setup? Its a part time IT course btw

    Depends what you are studying but generally for the first day, its just a brief intro.
    So pen and paper should suffice..

    I've noticed that most lecturers don't like people using laptops during the lectures, but in labs they're fine. You're free to use the laptop in place of the lab computers for all your work, but you'd have to source most of the required software yourself.

    You don't really need anything for your induction day. A pen and paper maybe but you'll be given loads of material. Timetable, information leaflets, student handbook etc.
