    Dear oul Glasgae town.

    I was born in Glasgow (for my sins). In the Southern General. I spent my formative first five months there but Alex won't let me vote, the wastard!

    Anyhoo, good folks of AH, where were you born? Anywhere more exotic than the Paisley Road West? I doubt it!:pac:

    Well what's the matter with Glasgow
    For it's goin' 'roon and 'roon

    I was born in Villeurbanne, in a tiny clinic in the actual buildings in the pic, called Les Gratte-Ciel, the skyscrapers. (France) http://www.aboutfrenchproperty.com/pictures/cities/villeurbanne.jpg

    Quite uniquely, I was born in an exotic street. "Holles"

    Born in BallyFun and still live here cos I love it.

    It does always amaze me how far down the food chain we are in almost every aspect of Irish life, even crime believe it or not.

    For example when there's reports of gangland murders here the story always says the "victim was a petty criminal somewhat known to Gardai as being the fringes of organised crime" never a mister big with a cool media assigned nickname.

    Close...

    I was born in the Queen Mother Maternity in Yorkhill - closed now. Managed 2 years in Glasgow (Marywood Square in Polokshields) before my folks sold their souls to the devil and moved to England.

    Em, if you want to win friends in GlasGOW please do not use Gae at the end of the word(or if in GlasGOW you want to keep your teeth). I was nearly born at the bottom of a brae in Donegal, my mother didn't even know she was pregnant at the time(after 3 births before me????) She was cycling home from work when Labour pains hit - a few minutes later in a neighbours house I made my way into the world kicking and screaming by all accounts.

    First time, the cottage, it was a small maternity hospital, outside ballymena.

    Second time, in a gospel tent. Hallelujah !

    Limerick. How exotic!
    same, Saint Munchin's?

    how messed up is it, that they called the limerick maternity hospital after a saint who put a curse on all limerick natives.

    Saint Munchin was pleased with the job,
    And he laughed with devout satisfaction;
    Then he gave every stranger a bob
    Along with his best benediction.
    "May strangers henceforward!"he cried,
    "In Limerick fast prosper and flourish;
    While, like the bad froth of the tide,
    The Natives will dwindle and perish"
