AFAIK if the DSP don't mind, you can work 20 hours a week, and earn less than 120 euro. If you earn more than that, you'll be given less dole.

What I mean is say you’re on the dole, and your offered just a couple of days work, say 5 days, only five days work, and then sign back on, You only get a couple of days work very short term work, and then sign back on, how many days can you work before you have to sign off completely, I hope that makes sense , it’s just so hard to find info, thanx very much

I know what you're asking but I don't know the specific answer. I do know that they can sign you off temporarily, so you tell them you're working for 5 days, they'll sign you off, you call when you finish and it is supposed to be easy to sign back on. Easier and shorter wait time than if you were signing on the first time

Your best bet is to call them

You can have your claim suspended temporary work for any period up to 8 weeks. The claim is not closed just suspended. Bring proof of works dates after you finish and your claim will go straight back into payment.

Where did this myth (and it is a myth) come from?

To qualify for a Jobseekers payment you must he unemployed for 4 days out of 7in any one SW week
For example if you have 4 days work next week Mon to Thursday then no dole for you.

Where did this myth (and it is a myth) come from?

Those are not the rules for working while on DA. On DA you can work and €120 Is disregarded. How do these myths get spread?

Disability Allowance or Blind Pension are means-tested disability payments. If you wish to do rehabilitative employment you must get written approval from the Department of Social Protection (DSP) to retain your Disability Allowance or Blind Pension. For both payments you need to provide a letter from your doctor certifying that the proposed work is rehabilitative. For Disability Allowance you need to provide a letter from your employer describing the proposed employment, the number of hours being worked and how much you will be paid. You do not need to have been getting your payment for a minimum period of time before you can apply.

To qualify for a means-tested payment your income from various sources is examined to see whether it is under a certain level. Some earnings from rehabilitative work are not taken into account in the assessment of your means and do not affect your payment. For Disability Allowance and Blind Pension, earnings of up to €120 from rehabilitative work (either as an employee or as a self-employed person) are not taken into account at all in the assessment of means. (The means assessed are your gross earnings less PRSI, any pension contributions and any union dues. You cannot deduct income tax or income levies.)

If you earn more than €120 per week from rehabilitative work, 50% of your earnings between €120 and €350 are not taken into account in the Disability Allowance or Blind Pension means test.

When you are granted an exemption for rehabilitative work you cannot work more than 20 hours a week.

Last line of the second paragraph on citizens advice page I linked.

On DA you don't need an exemption just permission. No hourly limit

If you go on the x & o(casual jobseekers) you can work 1,2 or 3 days a week and still get a payment,
