I have three diamond yellow gold ring and would like to get stones reset to give them more "bling" & reset on to white gold....wondering what cost of this would be if anyone has done this.

I've had a few pieces of jewellery remodelled / made by goldsmiths. The price depends on the amount of labour and materials used so it's really dependent on the specific details of the job. It's worth shopping around and getting a few quotations.

I think you're mad!!! white gold/silver are just about gone out of fashion again....it's all about gold again!
But i can recommend Tadgh Flynn Jewellers in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary, you could ring for a quote, he's on FB aswell, He's a very skilled gold-smith.

i second MIRMIR on their post, not that I think you would be mad to go with white gold but yellow gold is far more popular these days as far as i can see!

Op I'd completely ignore what's in a the moment whether its white or yellow gold you should just go and get what you want.

I agree 100% with ComputerKing. Go with what you like and what you want, forget about what's in or not. Fashion changes over the years, it's fleeting whereas your ring is permanent - if you prefer white gold/silver/platinum, then go for it - you'll be wearing it pretty much 24/7 so you may as well be happy with and enjoy the ring you're wearing. Also, it may be that silver suits you better than yellow gold - I know that's the case with my colouring, while my mum can't wear silver at all; it just doesn't suit her skin tone.

I think yellow gold looks so much better than white. I have my yellow gold engagement ring over 8 years now and never had it cleaned and it looks great.
My friend has white gold and she has to get it cleaned or polished every year as it looks so dull.
Maybe it is a difference in the carat if the gold, I am not sure, but I have certainly noticed how dull a lot if white gold rings are.
