Just wondering how the "one-size-down" from your road bike rule / wives tale holds up in real life (if boards can be considered as such :)). If you have a cx bike does it ring true for you? Also, where's a good place to buy a cx bike. The usual online and offline suspects - chain reaction, wiggle, cyclesuperstore, etc have…

Also, where's a good place to buy a cx bike. The usual online and offline suspects - chain reaction, wiggle, cyclesuperstore, etc have limited choice and low stock.

I've a size Medium Giant T-CR and T-CX, the TCX seems taller, but is actually grand, though I did have a size Small Specialized CruX last year so i'm kinda borderline on frame sizes..
Though with the FOCUS brand I know a few guys who take the size up in there frames...
Best thing is to give these guys a shout and see if you can try a CX bike for size?

It really depends on the frame. If you can find someone who has a frame you want they might let you test it or else some LBS who can advise you.
