Hob Ideas

    Hi All,

Our gas oven has broken recently, we can still use the hobs but I find it's limiting me a little...

Does anyone have any nice dinner ideas (apart from stir-fries) which would work with a hob alone?

(Also, we don't have a microwave.)

Love reading the recipes here and I've tried out a few from the cooking club before so thanks in advance if you've any suggestions! :-)

    Ragu
    Curry
    Braised dishes
In a cast iron pot on the hob
You just have to stir more than when in the oven

Buy a simmer ring ( I recommend Truka) and use that, it will greatly reduce the incidence of sticking and burning when slow cooking over a long period of time.
    Pot roasts?

Pretty much every savory recipe on the first page of The Cooking Club forum (apart from Baked Chicken Wings) can be done on the hob.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll take another look at the cooking club thread too.
