    Is there a smash scene here in Ireland? specifically around the Dublin area?

    Yes there is. Look for 'Super Smash bros- Ireland' on Facebook (can't post the link because I'm a new user, sorry!)

    There's an upcoming tournament in Dublin on the 18th of September with another being planned for the next day. Details on the tournament are on the fighting games section somewhere

    Also, casuals happen on Wednesdays in the XGC in Dublin. I'll be able to go to casuals on Saturdays come September.
