Concussion - A&E Referral / Scan

    Hey guys,

Looking for some advice here. My girlfriend had a nasty fall yesterday during sports and banged her head. She went to her GP this morning who diagnosed her with a concussion, and wrote her a referral letter for A&E for her to get a CT scan or an MRI (she recommended an MRI). She's at A&E now waiting, but the nurse told her that when the doctor sees her he'll only do a neurological exam as "you shouldn't be sent to A&E with a concussion".

Is there any come back to this as everything we've researched has suggested getting a scan to ensure there's no bleeding/damage etc?

She's not herself at all since it happened and her head is very sore. Likely post-concussion symptoms but we'd rather get the scan to be safe.

Please read the charter and speak to the doctor in a&e for advice, not random era online.
