    Hi

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I need a extensive work done, more than 9 implants in my lower jaw. I have been looking at dentists in Eastern Europe, getting prices ect however I am not sure what the best option is to do. I know preferably I should get the work done in Dublin but I cannot afford it.
Has anyone any experience in getting "extensive work" done either in Dublin or aboard and at what cost?
    Thanks

I can't imagine why you would need 9 implants in the lower jaw. A full lower prosthesis can be secured to 4-6 implants with very good predictability. 9 implants in the lower jaw is likely un-necessary....
Who said that you need 9??? A full set of teeth secured to 5/6 implants in the lower jaw would cost about €12-13K in Ireland.

    Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I actually got an assessment in Dublin for denture supported implants (upper & lower @16K) and went for a consultation for upper implants @1500K per implant.
I am looking for someone who can advise where the best places to go as it is so much money to spend not to mention the surgery that it entails.
I have seen so many ad's for cheap implants in Dublin and really need some guidance in this, Thanks
    Could you PM me?

€1500 is a very good price for an implant. I have implants and they cost me just under €2,000 a piece. I would be very wary of all those cheap implant adverts. You will end up spending twice as much fixing up implants that have gone wrong. Personally, I had a look around, visited some practices and chose the dentist that I felt most comfortable with. The initial consults were all free.

I am happy to give you the details of the dentists I visited. PM me if you need them.

When looking at implants at this level there is no point in looking at the individual cost of ech implant. Its like looking at the costs per brick to build a wall. You need the all in price for the service and also this would be at the higher end of complexity. You should think about wheather you wish a specialist of general dentist to do the treatment. Specialists in this area would be oral surgeons, periodontists and prosthodontists. I would start with a prosthodontist as the key here is the planning and final prosthesis choice. I would look for a clinic that takes a team approach, where each part is given to the appropriate person. This usually leads to ideal results.

9 implants are not necessary in a single jaw, you dont need an implant for every missing tooth. I have seen a complete arch from 11k-60k depending on spec and who does it. Also with treatment on this scale opinions will differ on what is the best treatment, and no one treatment plan is the correct one. Each clinicial will plan based on their experience and what they can get to work.

Post up any questions, this is a big decision.
