Hi all, I'm restoring an old 653 framed Peugeot and struggling to find a pair of period correct wheels. Anyone got an old wheelset thrown in the shed they'd part with?
    Paul text/viber/whatsapp <snip>
    Thanks for looking

Where are you based? I've a pair of MA40s on Sansin Gyromaster hubs. You'd probably want to view them for condition. I've no idea what they're worth.

I'm in County Waterford, could you send or post pics?
    Thanks

Is yours anything like this one?
Yes, same frame and paintwork but different parts, I've had mine since 1994 so I've decided to give it a new lease of life. I restore old VW cars as a hobby so this is my first bike restoration now that I'm getting back into cycling after illness and injuries. Did the Sean Kelly 100 yesterday in abysmal weather and loved every minute of it. I've been re-bitten by the bike bug in a big way!

Since those photos were taken, I've had mine resprayed, in original colours, I put carbon forks and a Campagnolo Veloce groupset on it. I have Fulcrum Racing3 wheels . I did Lap the Lough(140k) on it yesterday.
    Good luck with restoration.

    Hi there,

I think I have a set of Gp4's on the original dura-ace ax hubs if they would be of any good to you? They are tubs though and you might prefer clinchers?

Might you make it to Laochra na Laoise vintage spin on Sept. 14?

    Good luck with the restoration,

    Brendan

Cheers Brendan, ideally I'm looking for clinchers.

    ^^^^^^^^^^
Brendan Whelan at Bicycle Design Centre in Newbridge did mine.
When I get a chance I'll post some photos of it.
I think, it looks well, but it's a mongrel, because I put all new modern parts on it

I've been meaning to do it for ages.
