I'm looking at either buying an Audi A6 (C7) 3.0 tdi and the 245 and 204 bhp models in s line trim. Any idea what I should be paying for either model with average as a cash buyer?
Also anything I should look out for apart from the obvious?

Is the 204bhp model you are looking at the Front Wheel Drive, Multitronic? If so, the S-Tronic 245bhp is a totally different animal. The Multitronic isn't the worlds best gearbox, and kind of spoils the car, that's without taking the FWD vs quattro in to account.

The 204bhp quattro is a decent drive, but I'd happily pay a premium for the 245 version. There's a noticeable difference in performance between the 2.

Price wise - these things seem to be few and far between, so are holding their value very well, especially in S-Line trim.

I may be wrong but i don't think there is a a FWD 3.0 TDI available, i thought the were all quattro, if not it's a joke. I would imagine the BI turbo is the one to go for but i would imagine the are still demanding a good premium, you'd probably get a great spec 3.0 Avant from the Uk for the same price.

They certainly used to do a FWD 201 bhp V6 TDI. Surprisingly efficient as well, think it's only one tax band higher than the 2.0? All higher output V6s are quattro only. 201 bhp isn't a lot for a 3.0 V6, on the other hand at least it's still got a six pot engine unlike its equivalents from BMW and Merc (525d and E250), which have only four cylinders these days.

There's plenty of V6 powered A6s in the UK (usually quattro as well), though clearly the 2.0 TDI is by far the most popular engine for the car over there as well.

I think worth getting one with parking sensors as well, my daughters 2009 model 2.0 TDI does not have them and it spoils it a bit.
