Was originally planning on changing sometime next year but have been toying with the idea of selling my chariot now. Had a look on donedeal, carzone and prices seem to be all over the place. Either mad dealer prices, high mileage examples or the usual ones still on UK plates.

    So this is the car:

2011 VW Passat CC GT 2.0 TDi 140bhp BlueMotion
    Mileage: 85,000 KM
    Colour: Metallic Black
No of owners: 2 (1 previous UK owner and me)
    Full VW Service History

    Spec:
Full leather heated and electric Sport seats
Touchscreen stereo with SD card slot, factory Sat Nav and Bluetooth
    Dynamic Chassis Control
18" VW Interlagos alloy wheels with full size spare alloy
    Tyre pressure monitoring system
    Rear factory privacy glass
    Rear middle seat
    Cornering headlights
    Auto wipers, auto headlights,
    Cruise Control
    Parking sensors front and rear

    Yes, it is manual.

2011 CC Sport with 77k is booking at €21,650.

That's what I'd be looking at if you're trading in, or aim for around €19,000 in a private sale.

    Cheers R.O.R

Going to try and avoid trading it in as I want keep going to the UK for my next car as an option unless I see something nice here.

Would you get someone willing to pay €19k on a private sale?

I know someone who spent €15k on a private sale recently.

Fair enough. I didnt think anyone in their right mind would spend that sort of money on a car with absolutely zero comeback or legal protection!

Well there is obviously a higher risk involved this way and you can only do so much checking/inspecting but then again you can pay alot more by buying from a garage where the warranty is fairly limited to begin with and even if you do end up having to take legal action against them it can be long drawn out and costly battle assuming you can get these guys into court.

No plain sailing from the private sellers perspective either with all the messers and attempted scams going on, such is life.

Its a much higher risk in fairness. Dealing with garages might not always be a picnic either, but dealing with a proper respectable and established dealer (as opposed to a cowboy operation from a local portacabin) is a lot safer than buying privately, and at the very least gives you full legal backing should you need to pursue them for any reason. I didnt think too many people would gamble on much beyond €10k on a private sale.

Definitely a limited market but I have nothing to hide and I keep all my cars in tip top shape.
