looking to buy an insignia at the moment with 72 k miles.
mycarcheck has the following

now it seems like mycarcheck has it correct, but it says its gets the info from 3rd parties.

any idea how it pulls the info, service history not available with the test drive happened, but might have it at home ect, alarm bells so walking away but just curious on how they obtain the mileage

That looks like a pretty clear cut case.

The info comes mainly from garages who record the mileage when servicing the car. Mistakes do happen but usually a mistake will be obvious.

Is it an Irish car or a UK car, out of interest?

Still on UK plates.... but previous owner on v5 is a lease company so doubtful that would have tampered with it

The country is full of clocked ex lease cars. All lease cars should come with a full and detailed history. If it doesn't then that is a very bad sign straight away.

Doubt it. It would still be way off the mark. I Text the seller to say wasn't interested following a history check. He didn't even ask me what I found that turned me off it.

Just an update on this. It was reported to done deal and the removed the ad. I saw it pop up again with the number plate blocked and it was also deleted a second time by done deal after it was reported. But it's back with with a Fsh and the mileage back to what it was when it left the UK! Not going to be an easy sell any more I would imagine!
