Just wondering are there mountain bike trails in Killarney and if so where are they located?

    Thanks.

Heading down there myself next weekend for a break before the winter season kicks in. I'll be bringing my bike for a spin from Killarney round to the Gap of Dunloe, Black Glen, Molls Gap, Lady's View and back to Killarney. if I see anything promising, I'll post up here (if it's not too latee for you).

Set off early when your doing this, went back last weekend at about 2 on saturday and the gap of dunloe was covered in horse sh*t and tourists

I run a trail near Torc waterfall and meet alot of mountain bikers along the way. Best way to get up there is to head for the car park above the waterfall, I'm pretty sure the road is signposted for Mangerton on the way out from Killarney. From there just head for Torc mountain and turn up left after the barrier. It's not a designated mountain bike trail but it's normally pretty quiet there except for a few runners. Too far off the beaten track for tourists normally. Not sure how far the whole thing goes but it's a start. I'm sure any of the cycle shops around killarney would be able to help you out or maybe even the outdoor shop across from the courthouse could point you in the right direction

I agree. I do this route annually and if I don't get past Kate Kearney's cottage by 10, the road for the next few kms is choc a block with Jarveys, tourists and horse****! However things quieter down after that and I almost have the entire valley to myself. It's my little bit of heaven once a year. I don't be in any great rush and I just enjoy the scenery. Sorry for going off topic OP.
