Have you ever taken a leap of faith?

Currently I am sitting in a pizza place in the south east, tomorrow I have the biggest opportunity in my life and to be honest I am scared.

I am sick of living 9-5 with the real possibility of never owning a house, a nice car etc. my life is generally acceptable, I have a generally stable mundane job despite studying and qualifying for a completely different degree. I have true to travel and it hasn't work out.

I feel like I'm one of the thousands destined for a life of sub par mediocraty. I play 4th div soccer for a local soccer team for example, there is generally nothing I feel I excell in. I just live for the weekend and get drunk like every other soul my age seems to do ( mainly all my male friends)

However tomorrow I get to hopefully change my life. It is something I strive for, it I something I need, I guess what I'm asking is have you ever put a leap of faith in something and it has or may not have worked out? How have you coped?

Take it and take it with both hands. Things that scare you are usually the things that are best for you in your growth. Worst case scenario it'll go tits up, but so what, 9 to 5 mundanity is common and will be still awaiting, but big opportunities are rare. Go for it. Good luck.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

I rarely give out serious advice especially on the internet but what ever it is why not go for it,
what have you got to lose, and **** what other people think if you afraid of approval then you might as well just stick to what your doing now
if it doesn't work out you can always fall back into your mundane life,

as the old saying goes " 'Tis better to have loved and lost then never to have loved at all"

    gotta love the sayings,
another great one I learned from traveling myself is that "life begins at the end of your comfort zone"

Go for it, whatever it is, you have nothing to lose apart from mediocrity.
The unknown might scare you now but you'll never know what you are capable of if you don't try.

I once grabbed an opportunity which scared me shítless initially - there were some hickups (but that's life) but I never looked back and I'm now exactly where I always wanted to be.

And if it goes wrong? Well, what could be wronger than being bored to death by a predictable life day in day out?

I hope it is actually something of importance and not some random bolloux, because I have handed out my yearly life advice and would hate for it to be a waste

Ok I shall spill and while it may not seem important to some it means a great deal to me, so at the risk of being ridiculed I shall explain. I have worked numerous customer service jobs, worked as a grave digger, a roofer a chippy and currently I sit at a desk taking abuse for one of the most hated companies in Ireland, as do all customer service agents.

Since I was little I have a passion for comedy and drama , (I was once a pro wrestler), however I have extremely low confidence. I wa 20 stone at one stage and have managed to get down to 14, I created a medium in which I could be myself ( with the risk of sounding like I'm spamming I apologise , as I am not trying to promote anything at all) and from there I started to gain a bit more confidence every year and tomorrow I am trying for an audition in a TV show. Nothing substantial but in the fairy tale in my head this is a way to stand out and do something I love that previously I would of never had the confidence in doing.

I apologise if this is anti climatic and thinking about it, it may not be the break I imagine. But it is my first chance to do what I've always wanted to do after years of turning down chances and opportunities from being afraid

    No need to apologise.
It's the first step towards what you always wanted to do. Being afraid is your worst enemy. I've been there and I just jumped. Best jump ever :D

I don't know you but I'm really pleased for you. Good luck!
