Headphone Cable

I got a decent set of Logitech UE headphones at a good price.

The speech and volume works fine on an iphone but not on my Lumia 920.

The cable is entirely detachable and I reckon that if I were to get something compatible with WP then I will be entirely happy.

When I have gone on to ebay, google etc. I can't properly describe my search.

Is a new cable likely to work? And where do I get one, what do I describe it as to get a generic one and not be ripped off?

I have a set of Sony MH1C earphones and the all the controls work on the Lumia 520 except the Sony specific one. I think they are OMTP. I don't use them though as they are so awkwardly placed on the cable.
