Japanese Blood Grass

There's a really beautiful display of Blood Grass in the newly planted area of Fitzgerald's Park and I'd love to add some to my garden. My fear is that it's a thug and would become an invasive weed like a lot of grasses. Has anybody grown it and how does it behave?
