Hope this is the most appropriate forum. Is anyone else getting a ridiculous amount of sales pitch calls from sky?

I was with them before in my old apt and then cancelled. I agreeed to sign up again in the new place but they werent able to install it for some reason. They started charging me for a subscription that i couldnt use but thats another story.

In any event, theyre now rining me twice daily evey day for the last few weeks. Today they rang me three times and left a creepy no comment voicemail each time. Im on my holidays so find their calls even more obtrusive. I emailled them asking them to stop but that seems to have only made them keener to call me. I genuinely dont understand this because even debt collections ie people who have a bona fides reason to ring you will space out their calls by a few days.

Is there any way to get them to stop calling me?

yes you need to send a email to the top knob, just nice and polite, it used to be jeremy darroch but I am not sure he is still there. You could be on an autodialler and you may have given the impression that you were close to signing.

and they could be just out to pester you.

Start keeping a log of the calls and at least threaten to sue them for harassment, if not actually sue. Related article: http://www.irishexaminer.com/ireland/icrime/customer-harassed-by-225-calls-from-upc-148895.html

My dad had Sky for a year or so and after leaving would get calls to sign back up at least weekly, despite telling them to stop. The bastards finally stopped after they rang one day at midday, when I answered and informed them that my dad had died that morning, which was true, and if they didn't stop, I'd sue them and make sure the story hit the likes of IT Pricewatch. They finally got the message.

    Thanks folks,

Sent thr email and after another day of phonecalls, i seem to be call free (for the moment at least)! They even finally send me a refund of money they took from my account (less than what i paid and several months later, but such is life)!
