I think in reality its probably something different. What I would say it is that they will ship X number of Items to dublin to be ready to express to a Dublin client when they order.

the links are 7 months old and only discuss a patent that has been granted. the WSJ link even says that amazon havent decided if they will implement it. And the patent only covers shipping items to a delivery center nearer to where you live so if you do order then they will get to you faster. I didnt see any mention of them delivering stuff to your door that you havent ordered.

And if amazon starts charging our cards for things we haven't ordered, this may push low-income people over their limit and result in overdraft charges.
how will amazon start charging cards? there was absolutely nothing I read to suggest anything remotely like that is planned.
What if they start sending you everything you've browsed or put on your wish list?
I would say they would be sensible about some categories, and would probably introduce a new incognito feature or something, might be there already, I know you can delete history.

It said they would possibly deliver stuff free as a gift, as it may not be worthwhile returning it.

But they are getting them free right?

I wouldn't mind some of that.

Well it depends. There's suggestion that you may have to go to the hassle of returning it if you don't want it, or pay.

But are those just rumours, like your idea they would somehow be charging your card.

What happened in these 2 cases, I couldn't find them in the comments, did they get it free?

There are already laws about unsolicited deliveries.

The idea of giving them free was for goodwill, dumping stuff and making you return it would cause huge badwill.

Is there an option with amazon to 'not store my card details' don't like anyone holding on to that info anymore. Give control back to the people I say!

I dont remember being forced to create an amazon account and give them my credit card details.

You can delete any stored credit card info from your amazon account screen.

Yep, I ALWAYS believe every thing some eejit writes on the internet!

Sure someone told me Bill Gates was giving away his fortune and the prince of nigeria wants to send me a few million.

I could register on those places and I could add a comment that amazon are adding €500 notes to random orders just for fun - would you believe that too?

Basically, unless it is from an official source don't believe 90% of the crap written online.
