Germinal Seeds, they generally won't deal with a private person, so you order/buy it through a coop or merchant (shamrock enterprises, etc)

Shamrock enterprises ,made up as a special asked 3 companies and they quoted best .always like to go 14 kg of seed per acre rather than the traditional 12/12.5..speed 13 acres over 2 weeks ago and walked it this am andvits well up ,will give it a bag and a half of pasture sward next week

Same here would go a bag and a quarter with the standard bags alrite. Will be sowing 2 acres today and hopefully another 13 next week if weather holds up. The Father said these fields haven't been ploughed since 82 and there are still purple roots in the grass so if I can manage it as well as he did I'd be away

All i no is to get the best from ur soil u need to make ur own mix to suit requirements. Simply buying straight from the shelf isnt good enough. Am thinkn of thrown out 2 bags to the acre of 10:10:20 after the grass shoots? Good or bad idea?

I generally till, spread 3 bags 10 10 20, then lime, set seed and roll, spray when its at right stage and then give a bit of n to get it going.

Can generally as it's what I have in stock at this time of year, also not sure about urea with lime out recently
Also, the p and k is needed for root development so better in the soil with the seed I reckon

Yep 74 a bag,go with a kg of clover if u want.i don't bother as I use my full fert allowance and will be heavily stocked .also we rarely getvrid weather in this country to get full benefit of clover.also re fert put it I. With seed ,line also ,new seeds love n p and k.

No, 10 10 20 before sowing and then a bag of can once the grass is up not long after spraying as the spray can check the grass a bit. This also depends on ground conditions as don't want to go tracking thru the field. Others may go with a bag of pasture or cut sward instead of can on the new grass for added p and k

    Master crop/glanbia.
We disk here 2or3 times. Contractor has a ring roller on back of disk.
    Run of a chain harrow
Sow seed with manure spinner and put out 3 bags of 10-10-20 with spinner.
    Roll then

How many Kg/acre ? No good telling us how much a bag without the kg. I paid 92 for 16kg bags with 2 kg of clover. That's 16 quid, could be a waste too.

A m8 of mine in kilkenny uses a direct drill. I no nothing about it cos we always plough but it seems a nice job but is it just for good ground or can it be used on stoney sh.it too? All he had to do manually was top to the bare min and let the grass up 3 inchs n spray the grass off then direct drill it. Would it work for all ground? He tried convincing me it wud. But his ph is good and doesnt need lime. Altough there are ways around lime like using gran lime.
