Software Tool (Designing)

    Not sure I'm in the right forum. But I am buiding something for work and want to design it firstly using a free software tool. Anyone have any idea of a good one. Basically its a testing rig for a product and will be built out of timber. Just want to be able to draw a 3d version of it

    You're looking for a CAD application.
    There are several free ones and several stupidly expensive ones.

    sketchup is probably the easiest to get to grips with:
