Ive an irish driving licence. Drive a northern reg car and live in NI.
Had a speed camera flash me 2 weeks ago and a notice has been posted to my cars registered address.
They're asking for the details of the "driver at time of the offence".
I have a paper NI driving licence "counterpart" as well because a PSNI officer took my irish licence and sent it off to DVLNI to have northern licence equivalent made. (This was for speeding at 140kph on a fairly empty dry motorway incase anyone is curious!)

Anyone been in this situation before?

Edit. These are two separate speeding offences. The first a PSNI stopped me. Second (the current one) is just an automated speed camera.

Why did the PSNI officer take your Irish licence from you?

As it is a european licence, you are in no way obliged to swap it for an NI one.

He took it so he could have a ghost (uk) licence made for me to have points applied onto. It's not an actual licence. My Irish licence is still with me and good for many years and has no points on it.

Ah I see, makes more sense. Thanks for the clarification. For what its worth, I'd send back the details as they've asked for and pay up, theyre introducing legislation where by fines can be collected across the EU

Edit: And now that I've read your post again, I see you live in NI, you wont be getting any points on your irish licence though!
