Satellite Position

    New to the Forums here so apologies if this was asked already. The house im in has a satellite dish set up to receive polish and European tv stations. Is this the same set up an position to receive the sky channels also 28.e?

    Unfortunately for you its not the same position. It is most likely pointing at 13e. You would need to realign the disk to 28e in order to pickup freesat or sky.

    Ah right no worries cheers for that. Is it easy to do? its not a motorised one just the standard small dish

    You will need some kind of meter to help you realign the dish. A cheap DIY shop one may suffice. Many satellite boxes have built-in meters but there is usually a slight delay between any change you make and the meter readings on screen. You would also need to be able to see the TV or have someone else watch it and guide you. This site will give you a rough idea of where to point the dish. Enter your address and select the Astra satellite group at 28°2E. Move the dish slowly as the adjustment is quite fine, 1 millimetre can make a difference.

    It is usually easy enough to do but you will lose the Polish and European channels which I assume will upset the other occupants.
