Dry fluffy hair

Recently I have stopped gelling/waxing my hair. I wash my hair with shampoo once, maybe twice, per week. Every other day I rinse it, 2 or 3 times per day in the shower (morning, gym and before bed). I hate the fluffy dryness of it. When I haven't shampooed it in a few days the natural oil gives my hair shape.

Does anyone know how to give my hair shape on the few days after shampoo? I hate wearing wax and gel because it's sticky.

Have you tried putting a bit of conditioner in it when you rinse it every day?

TBH, rinsing up to three times a day sounds like a recipe for disaster! Especially if you blow dry it each time (I don't know if you do, obviously)

Do you really need to rinse it that often?

I'd imagine (on the basis of instinct alone, I have no actual knowledge of this) that you'd be stripping natural oils by washing/rinsing that often?

I've had my long hair cut shorter recently and notice that I have to wash it far more often - but I'd still never dream of washing it even nearly every day.

Maybe I'll try that.. I dont blow dry it but maybe shouldn't rinse so much. My hair dresser suggested this:

    olive oil

I'd try and reduce the amount of times you wash/rinse it tbh, rather than putting more products into it.

The best condition my hair is ever in is when I've left it for a ridiculous amount of time without washing, and then wash/dry it.

Like I say, it's just instinct, but I think less is more when it comes to washing hair!

(Do you have long/short hair btw? Short definitely requires more frequent washing but even so......)

Shortish with a bit of length.

Didn't wash or rinse it this morning. Let's see how this goes.
