Hey guys i recently bout a 2003 ford focus 1.4 zetec, car is perfect but noticed that the spring in the gearstick no longer works as in if it is in neutral and i move the gearstick to the left or right it will stay there it will not move back to the middle on its own as it should, anyone know what this could be?

    Hi Karl,

Think this is a common problem with the focus.
There's a little plastic pin just at the shifter that holds it in neutral, when you take the gaitor off you should look inside and you'll see it broken off.

Just put a new slip pin or something that will hold it back in place and you're sorted.

Also the buttons on the key for the remote central locking arent working because a small metal piece that the battery sits on is missing is there a solution to this?
