    Hi,
I am flying aerlingus to London Heathrow soon and am just wondering if it is ok to carry one of these:

in my hand-luggage? With the recent security issues with smart phones etc I am just a bit wary.

    Thanks

It should be fine, if it is charged they can test it. Indeed you would probably not be allowed check it in, as there are restrictions on batteries in checked in luggage.

We weren't checked on the way to the US so can't say conclusively. However, I imagine the circuitry inside those is really minimal and it's mostly a battery, which they should be able to see in the airport security scanners.
Most of the "demonstrate it operates as intended" is targeted at phones and tablets, especially Samsung Galaxy's and iPhones from what I can remember.

Will be fine hand luggage. I accidently put a simialr device in my checked baggage in China. When going through security I was escorted to my checked bag which was searched in front of me. When they saw it they just said it must go hand luggage.
