Hi just a quick question in relation to the HRI (Home Renovation Initiative) Scheme, and how to claim the credit. If you are in PAYE employment, must you apply for it through PAYE anytime or do you contact your local revenue office?

    Thanks in anticipation.

    You don't claim it.

The Co who do the renovation, ask for your LPT Reference number, which is linked thru Revenue to your Income Tax

They then input thru ROS the payments you make to them.

The VAT is then refunded by a Tax Credit in the following 2 years 50% each year.

Make sure the Co have a Tax Clearance Cert.
