    Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some decent routes out from around CUH to the west. I did one the other day up the Lee Road to Dripsy and back which was nice. I am planning to do some rides out past Ballincollig or towards Kinsale. Are there any roads you guys would suggest taking, or more importantly any that should be avoided (traffic, bad surface, etc.)? How is N22 for riding, on the way back to the city from Coachford? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

From that side of the city you can head both through blarney direction,. More westerly head for millstreet or macroom.
West go toward crookstown and keep going or over the hill to bandon.
South towards kinsale and all the coastal towns to clonakilty. Passing through ballinhassig may be a good point to aim for. Don't forget the east of the city accessible through the city or the ferry from Passage West.
Check ridewithgps for specific roads. There are many many clubs and cycle groups in cork so why not give them a shout, especially with Autum fast approching a group would have a number of benifits.
    Good luck and enjoy!

Lee Road to Coachford, over the Windy Gap and back on the Macroom Road is the most obvious 50 out that way.

Out Toward Nadd, on the desent to Nadd there is an almost 16degree turn back up 'Col De Bweeng' which will bring you back around to Blarney, a nice 45k loop.

Go up the viaduct hill toward Bandon and take the left at halfway toward Kinsale, coming back from Kinsale take the right on the R600 in Belgooly Village, this will bring you back into Carrigaline via Ballyeard, a nice climb.

Alternatively go through halfway and continue toward Innishannon, take the lef before the town to come into kinsale from the other side, a bit longer but a lovely climb up out of Innishannon.

Keep going though Innishannon and take the left at he other end of the town for a slightly longer but flatter route back to Kinsale via Ballinspittle. These routes are longer than 50k.

If you ever want some company gimme a shout, I'm out blarney way and usually head out past ballincollig or north cork. I'm not part of a cycling club but wouldn't mind tagging along for some longer spins.

Nice spin about the 50km mark is from Cork to Cobh and back.
From the centre out to Tivoli, you've to cross the Dunkettle roundabout or else go in to Glanmire and out the Glounthaune to Cobh cross road, down to Cobh, I usually go the hilly way which is left at the bridge.
Back to Cork then via the ferry and either back by Passage or left and around by Monkstown and up over the hill by Monkstown golf course and back to Rochestown/Douglas.
