Too much oil in 04 Celica

Went to have something checked on my VVTi Celica last week.
The oil was on the minimum so the mechanic topped it up. I recall 500ml being roughly the amount between minimum and maximum on the dipstick when I first topped the oil up myself.
This lad put at least a litre in by the look of what he poured.

Now the oil's reading high. I've tried to gradually decrease the amount by wiping off the dipstick, reinsert, repeat x50. This doesn't seem to have done anything to the level though.

    Any advice on sorting this?

    Borrow a vacuum pump?

Go back to the mechanic and have them suck some out.

I would be wary of driving it to be honest....

Sucking it out with a pump is the best way to get rid of overfill. Get the mechanic to come out to you and do it.

Screw off the oil filter and empty it if the oil filter is located somewhere where it wont cause the engine to empty itself of all oil. Doing this 1-4 times should solve the problem

Depends on the car. It is normally around one litre
