Which airports for winter snow break?

Hi, we're not skiers or snowboarders but I'd like to bring the family to see and experience somewhere in the Alps this coming winter.
Wondering what airports, flying from Dublin, should I be looking at?I know the likes of Geneva and Zurich which Aer Lingus serve, but do Ryanair or other airlines fly to places from where the Alps can be reached handily enough?
No fixed dates yet.Any advice appreciated.

Ryanair fly to Basel in Switzerland, usually can get flights very cheap as well, from €20 each way, not sure how well it's situated in relation to the Alps though. Another option would be to fly to Memmingem airport in Germany which has a shuttle bus at around €15 each way to Zurich. The coaches are timed to arrive and depart in time for flights. Only thing is this takes nearly 3 hours to get to Zurich so you might not be too keen to spend all that time on a coach after a flight, but could still be an option if was much cheaper.

As for actually getting to the Alps from anywhere in Switzerland, that's a question for someone else as I've not been!

We have flown into Zurich, Geneva and Lyon for the Alpine ski regions. There are either trains of public buses which connect them. The train from Zurich was one of the nicest I have to say. Travel time was roughly just over 2 hours.

I've been reading up on Swiss railways and the ticket options are bewildering!
Did you just buy your tickets at the station in Zurich or in advance can I ask?
    Thanks.

We bought them on arrival. We had a German friend with us who did the logistics, but I assume the ticket machines will have language options.
Fabulous trains and very punctual, well worth the money.
