there has to be a reason for it, last year the bad spring, 2012 bad summer..... i supose they could say beef prices this year. Would be nice to know if the advancement was coming so we could plan work ahead.

you can sense the lack of funds at the ringside last couple of weeks, eveen though the beef man is saying (& rightly so with present factory prices) that stores are too dear

splitting the SFP would IMO help to keep an even trade for stock for the back end,

what you are paying this year is from last year.... had 2 brutal years in 2009 and 2013 and still had to find the money to pay tax and put food on the table

I don't think it matters what year it is.

S.F.P. has had an advance payment in October since 2006. In some years I can remember 70% was paid in October in exceptionally bad years. Every Minister comes out in September to declare that after long hard fought negotiations running into the early hours he has secured a deal to have an advance payment. Then all the Local Radio Stations will follow with every Government T.D. coming on to announce this hard earned victory when in fact we are pushing an open door for advance payment which is customary in most other EU countries.

will probably be paid alright but it's only a concession, you should never set up a commitment based on it and even if it is being paid, it's only if your case is cleared for payment
Payment date is early dec and anything before that should be treated as a bonus

That was my take too,we've become reliant on early payement now though.i still wouldn't be structuring payements though based on it

Fully agree, ploughing is comming up and Coveny will want a good news story so I'd be fairly sure there will be announcement around that time.

Ploughing is a full month away. I reckon he might announce it sooner to sweeten some of the beef farmers

from inside back page of fj, das are in line to be paid in the last week of september-probably after minister coveney announces it at ploughing:rolleyes:-Farmers will also receive the advance 50% payment of sfp worth over 500million euro in total from 16 october. However the commission is considering allowing 100% of direct support to be paid out to farmers from 16 october . The balance of direct payments are normally paid on 1st december. The move is to help those who are struggling with cash flow due to russian food ban............

Good way to get a bit of cash ringside for the weanling sales. If enough lads get 100% in October it might help a little for the trade.
