Negotiating a car insurance claim

    Has anyone gone through the process of a claim on car insurance where they were not happy with the settlement offer and were able to negotiate the claim upwards?

    Best bet in this case is to get a loss adjuster to fight it for you. They use professional s to deal with you, you should use one to deal with them. However your really only likely to get book value and not the value you put on it personally.

    +1 on the above.

    Forget about the value you insured it for. Look at vehicles of the same make, model and variant of yours, in similar condition and mileage prior to the event which necessitated the claim. You may get a bump in value, as I did once previously by about 10%
