Hi I need some advice for first time beginners learning to driver. I have been putting it off for a while now as I am very nervous about it.

Could anyone give advice on learning to drive in cork city? I don"t have my own car and I wouldn't have anyone near hand to practice with.

You probably would have done better off in the learning to drive forum :P Either way, it gets easier. Are you practising with an instructor? Mine always brought me out of town on N-roads to practise where there are good hard shoulders etc.

Driving instructors. Cork City forum is probably your best bet.

Thread moved from Infrastructure to "Learning to Drive" forum. The "Learning to Drive" Charter now applies, see http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055066803 .

Get a good driving instructor! Best way is to ask around for recommendations from people who have recently learned to drive. A decent instructor will help immensely to make you feel confident behind the steering wheel. :)

If you don't have anyone to practice your driving with, I'd hold off on taking lessons until you do.

    Why?
Whilst it's always helpful and advisable to be able to practice it isn't impossible to learn to drive and ultimately pass the test without it.
Often, the longer people put it off the harder they find it. I've often heard pupils say, "I wish I'd done this when I was 18...."

OP. Find a good instructor that comes recommended. Best of luck
