I'm going to Paris soon and am thinking about a day trip to one or the other place. I don't know a lot about the castle at Fontainebleau but it gets good reviews on TripAdvisor, and there's lots of talk about long queues at Versailles. Would anyone have a recommendation either way? Thanks.

have only been to Versailles palace. I loved it. there was a long queue to get into palace but it was fast moving. we like most others split up and one queued for self guided tour headset while the other queued for entrance.

I've been to both and would definitely go to Versailles. Fontainbleu is interesting enough but Versailles is huge and there's loads to see. You can book your ticket in advance to save queueing -
