What to buy

    Hey,

Basically I bought a 2008 Leon FR for £7,200 in the UK but the VRT rate changed before I had a chance to register it and nearly doubled so I've decided to sell it (this is proving more difficult as I live in the south)

Anyways, I'm probably going to have to trade it in but I'm looking for a performance petrol or diesel with high torque ideally post 08 with similar styles to an A4, BMW 320D coupe or a hot hatch (insurance is not an issue as I'm on a garage policy) - probably should say I'm not interested in a vrs haha

What would be a reasonable value car with good performance that the vrt isn't extortionate on

    Cheers

    Slightly off topic

How much is the VRT now? €3000-3500?

OMSP is around 13k, what's changed?

Was the OMSP ridiculously low before?

No not really, I think it was 10.X K but there's petrols going for 6 and can't really find any diesels to compare it too

What about an Audi or BMW? Otherwise, could just go for another Leon.

This is the only diesel fr I could find

    Crazy cheap.

They go for really good money in the south when you can find them, revenue is just taking the absolute mick with this one.

They're value is actually higher in the UK, like 7.2K is on the low end of the spectrum for a perfect 2008 white model but my lack of resources is making it very difficult to sell

What I'm trying to establish if there is any high performance low emission cars from the 08ish era? It's the high emmissions on the leon that is making the VRT ridiculous combined with the inflacted MRSP

Might be better off trading it in up north or the UK. Can't believe you spent that money - I know someone who paid a lot less for an 08 with just under 100k km early this year.

If you look on the Northern websites (usedcarsni) it's the second cheapest FR listed in it's class - the first being a grey one, white also fetches a premium.

Trade in is looking imminent at the moment due to the difficulty of sale
