    hi all. i've been trying to upload photo's from a cf card and my phone to my laptop,but for some reason the auto play function won't work. i uploaded photo's last week without any bother but now auto play seems to have disappeared. i'm not too computer literate,:rolleyes:so be gentle with me. thanks.

    hi,i inserted a dvd and the auto play function is working for that,but still no sign of it when i plug in the card reader to upload the photo's.

    When you say upload, do you mean upload to somewhere on the internet, or just copy to your computer's hard disk? If the latter, just use Windows Explorer to copy files

    thanks bonzodog,sorry about the bad terminology.i usually upload to computer then edit in picassa, and then upload some photo's to my flickr photostream,any time iv'e done this i have used auto play,i wouldn't know any other way of doing it.

    sebphoto,thanks for the link,the first option is straight forward enoug(i followed the instructions but auto play still wont work) the next couple of options are a bit beyond my computing skills.i.e. where do i type service.msg ?,where do i find regedit. apologies if these questions seem a bit dumb but, as i said in my first post i'm not too computer literate. thanks for reading.

    No worries.
    Services.msc - start>run> type services.msc and enter
    regedit - same as above - start > run>

    To be honest it might be better if you just attach your card reader and press two buttons: windows key + e, you will have explorer on the screen and you can copy whatever you want from your card to your hard drive.
