Im going to Holyhead from Dublin Port tomorrow on Irish Ferries (Swift) - Is it worth paying the extra €16 each way for club class or would it be a waste of money?

They are airplane style seats and recline a bit and you are allocated a seat. Its tea/coffee, coke, orange etc, wine, small snacks like cheeses and biscuits and muffins etc. I do it when i use that boat and its ideal if the boat is busy. Upgrade going over to see whats its like.
Its defo NOT a waste of money in my opinion.

I personally don't think it's worth it, even when boat is busy, I've always gotten a seat, and if you are going to wander round the shop etc, it really is a short spin. €16 for an hour or so!!

If you've never been on the Swift, I wouldn't bother with the upgrade because by the time you explore the boat, the time will have passed. You can go up top on the Swift (unlike the HSS where you're confined inside) so on a good day you can get the sea breeze - as soon as you find a spot upwind of the smokers.

You can go outside on the HSS as well. Not much in the shop to be honest to use up your time and not much to explore on the Swift.

What about priority boarding - It would be good - I take it you are first off boat too?

its a lottery if you ask me, i've been first off without paying, and nearly last off whilst paying!

I was on the Swift from Holyhead to Dublin a few weeks ago and I bought the upgrade, it was definitely worth every penny

The Swift is a pretty crap ship at the best of times, but when it's busy, it is really not nice. The Club Class lounge was comfortable and just more civilised than the main deck

For €18, you get a reserved seat in the lounge as well as snacks and drinks for the entire crossing. The seats are very comfortable and the Coke and snacks (flapjacks, caramel slices, mini wraps, cheese etc.) are quite nice. There are also flip-down tables on the back of the seats so you always have a table if you need one and when you don't, you can just flip the table back up

Paying the extra for Club Class on Irish Ferries and Stena Plus on well, Stena is well worth it. I've been forward and back a lot in recent months and after driving from London to Holyhead the break for a few hours in Club is fantastic, gets me ready for the further trip to Donegal.
