Question on citizenship

A friend of mine from south america is due a baby in september , the father is irish and her visa is up in november/december. He unfortunately has abandoned her. Can she stay in Ireland after the birth of the baby without having to apply for a new visa? Thanks.

We can't really give out legal advice here (it could get people into a lot of trouble if it's wrong). You can ask in the Legal Discussion forum as to where to get some advice. I don't think they can address specific cases, though.
