Hi folks, when travelling to Oz i know i have a 30 kg allowance in total but can u purchase an extra baggage allowance with Qantas at airport? If so does anyone know how much extra and what the cost would be? Failing that can anyone recommend a way to get your stuff to Perth apart from a container?

A mate of mine traveled to Melbourne over the weekend, was 4kg over the 30 kg and got stung for over €100 with Etihad, I'm imagine it would be the same with Qantas, if you have a rough idea of what weight you would be needing to ship, have a look at super snail mail with An Post!

There are details on their website for extra baggage costs. It costs less to do it in advance but it's still very expensive.
